Tucepi (population 1800) is located 5 km south east of Makarska. Until the earthquake of 1962, the majority of its inhabitants were living in hamlets at the foot of the mnt. Biokovo. Now a popular tourist destination thanks to its glorious coastline, its opportunities for sports and its excellent accomodation, the settlement of Tucepi was first settled four thousand years ago by the Illyrians. Tucepi is one of the most beautiful and famous vacation places on the Adriatic, with numerous hotels and family houses which offer diversified accomodation. The modern settlement of Tucepi, situated in the south of the area, along the 4 kilometres of mild, cultivated pebbly shore, seeks its prosperity in tourism.

Promajna is located 5 km south from Baska Voda and 7 km northwest of Makarska . A larger part of the settlement lies below the slopes of the Biokovo mnt., along the old coastal road. In recent times, due to the development of tourism, the village started to expand toward the coast. Present inhabitants of Promajna, about 235 of them, are descendants of families which moved near the sea from villages Podgora and Bast. Today the inhabitants of Promajna are mostly engaged in agriculture, fishing and tourism.

Brela are 15km northwest of Makarska. Brela are surrounded by the longest and loveliest coastline in Dalmatia. 6 kilometers of pebble beaches curve around coves thickly forested with pine trees, largely unmarred by ugly tourist developments. A shady promenade winds around the coves, the sea is crystal clear and there are convenient outdoor showers on some beaches. Beaches and coves are on both sides of the town but the longest stretch is the 5km coast west of the town center. The settlement consists of the older part (Gornja Brela) near the old road in the hill, and the newer part located on the coast (Donja Brela).

Makarska - a city in middle Dalmatia area of Croatia, population 20,000 (2007). It is located on the coast of the Adriatic Dalmatia, about 60 km southeast of Split and 140 km northwest of Dubrovnik. It is a famous tourist centre, located on a horseshoe shaped bay between the Biokovo mountain and the Adriatic Sea.  The city is noted for its palm fringed promenade, where fashionable cafés, bars and boutiques overlook the pretty harbour where many pleasure craft are moored.
